As of today, you can submit a photo of handwritten work as your attempt. This is the most-requested feature since launch, especially from math, chemistry, and physics students.
The engineering was not the interesting part. The interesting part was designing the workflow so a photo attempt still enforces the same stance: no answer, one guiding question, real diagnosis.
We use Sonnet's vision capability to read the handwritten work, then run the same tutor pipeline over the transcribed content plus the image itself. The tutor sees both. It can (and does) reference specific steps in your handwriting.
This has changed how our chemistry beta users engage with the product. Mechanism arrows are now first-class citizens of the attempt.
