concepts vs. methods

/methods tell you what to do. /concepts tell you why it works.

Both matter. If you skip the methods, you don’t practice; if you skip the concepts, you don’t know when to reach for which method. The concepts are the substrate — they explain why active recall beats re-reading, why spacing beats massing, why deliberate practice produces different results than volume-based practice.
