/methods tell you what to do. /concepts tell you why it works.
Both matter. If you skip the methods, you don’t practice; if you skip the concepts, you don’t know when to reach for which method. The concepts are the substrate — they explain why active recall beats re-reading, why spacing beats massing, why deliberate practice produces different results than volume-based practice.

Working memory

Awareness and control of your own cognitive processes — knowing what you know, and knowing when you don't.
Transfer of learning
The ability to apply what you learned in one context to a new one.
The application of knowledge, skills, and strategies acquired in one context to a novel context.
Growth mindset
The belief that abilities are trainable · vs. fixed.
The belief that intellectual abilities and skills can be developed through effort, feedback, and practice.
Deep processing
Depth of encoding predicts durability of memory.
The degree to which incoming information is analyzed for meaning and integrated with existing knowledge.
